Oversized Fit Style Guide: How to Wear It Right

The oversized silhouette in 2026
The 2010s slim-fit era is dead. The oversized box-fit is the dominant streetwear silhouette and it isn't going anywhere — every major brand from Yeezy to Stüssy is built on it.
Done badly, oversized looks like you borrowed your dad's t-shirt. Done right, it's the strongest fit in your wardrobe.
The three rules of oversized
1. Drop shoulder, not "size up"
A real oversized tee is cut oversized — shoulder seams drop past your actual shoulders by 2-3cm, sleeves end above the elbow, the body sits boxy. Don't just buy a size larger in a slim-fit tee. The proportions will look wrong.
2. Heavier fabric matters
Drape kills the silhouette. You need at least 220 GSM of cotton to hold the box shape. Thin tees collapse on the body and lose the oversized look. More on GSM →
3. Balance the bottom half
Oversized top = fitted or tapered bottom. Loose top + loose bottom = sleepwear.
Pair with:
- Slim or straight jeans for everyday
- Cargo joggers with elastic ankles
- Wide-leg pants only if the top is cropped or tucked

What size should I buy for an oversized fit?+
If our tee is cut oversized (most of ours are), buy your usual size. Buy one size up only if you want a fully exaggerated drop-shoulder look.
Can I wear oversized tees to work?+
Yes — in plain bone or black with a tailored trouser and clean trainers, an oversized 240 GSM tee reads as smart-casual.
Is oversized only for tall people?+
No. Anyone can pull off oversized — just keep the bottom half fitted to balance the proportions.
